..you look at some of these pictures of hotels and how big they were and realize how booming this place must have been..I sure know when we were kids it was..my Uncle Andy I think owned a hotel over towards Eldred..we looked for it and could not find it..more like a rooming house I would say..and I can imagine if anyone got to stay there how lucky they felt when they tasted Aunt Louise's cooking...boy could she cook..and bake..

..boy did we think we were in heaven when Woolworths came to town..my friend Jeanie was lucky enough to get a job there..in the stereo department.!!..we loved to go there for lunch..they had quite a large counter..I would say the biggest in Monticello..and they seemed to have everything you could possibly want..

..St Peter's Catholic Church Monticello NY..we attended the smaller church in Mongaup Valley..but..came here for various reasons..

..we just loved going to Jeff..we went there for school clothes..and I use to go for Field Days when we got out of school earlier than they did..
